Saffron Home Services is based in Saffron Walden and we provide Handyman services within a thirty mile radius of Saffron Walden. This includes: Bishops Stortford, Buntingford, Cambridge, Dunmow, Great Chesterford, Harlow, Haverhill, Newport, Linton, Sawston, Stansted Mountfitchet, Saffron Walden and all surrounding villages.

What Do You Charge?

We charge a fixed rate for labour - please see our fees here. All parts are charged separately and we will always provide a quotation in advance for any parts. Our trade relationships often mean that any parts we provide are cheaper to those you could purchase from the high street. We pride ourselves on our competitive prices, however we do not offer a 'budget service' or a price-match, because we believe you get what you pay for!

What Payment Methods Do You Accept?

We accept payment by Cash, Bank Transfer (BACS) or Credit/Debit card. Cheques are NOT accepted.

How Long is Your Waiting List?

Usually we can book you in for work within a couple of weeks. We are busier in the summer months and so occassionally the wait may be longer. Sometimes we do have cancellations or last minute spots available and can consider shorter times for urgent handyman work.

What Experience Do You Have?

Over twenty five years as a Locksmith, both self employed and as manager of the Saffron Walden branch of 'Lock, Stock and Barrel' Locksmiths. Plus, over ten years as a Handyman, working for the Papworth Trust, a charitable trust providing help for the elderly and disabled in order to facilitate independent living. While in this role I have completed many additional trainings including protection of the vulnerable and elderly and current safety regulations. I have also completely renovated two old (three hundred year to be precise!) houses (including a grade two listing) from top to bottom myself.

How Am I Protected?

Saffron Home Services Handyman services are fully insured, for two million pounds, public liability. I am DBS checked and all customers are welcome to inspect either certificate.
